1.What is Millennicon?

MILLENNICON® is a literacy based, science fiction/fantasy convention in the long standing run by fans for fans tradition, with 21 years of providing midwest fandom with a fine science fiction convention for fans of all ages. Programming items include science fiction literature and fantasy subjects, science, space, technology, writing, art, costuming, collecting, gaming, children's programming, film and media interests. Activities include a dealers room, art show and auction, masquerade contest, a dance, filking, gaming demonstrations, tournaments, open gaming, video and anime room, consuite, contests and door prizes.

In addition, MILLENNICON® supports regional science fiction fandom by providing a seperate track of programming reserved for regional science fiction based fan groups and organizations. The fans may present panels and activities of their own choosing to showcase their favorite subjects. MILLENNICON® offers free information tables for these groups so they can advertise their organization and activities, support their favorite charities, and solicit new members.

MILLENNICON
® is the primary fund raiser for the Miami Valley Fandom for Literacy®, a non profit organization based in Dayton, Ohio.


2. Where is Millennicon 24 going be held at?
MILLENNICON will be held at The Holiday Inn I-275, Cincinnati.

Conveniently and centrally located along Cincinnati’s outer beltway, the Holiday Inn offers the function space and room our convention needs. Over the past twenty years MILLENNICON has grown into one of the Midwest’s finest science fiction conventions. In order to accommodate our attendees and expanding activities we have moved to a larger hotel. (See, we DO listen to our attendees!) We think you’ll be pleased with the improvements! Our function space is centrally located and there's plenty of room to relax and mingle.

The hotel offers spacious double-double and single king guest rooms. Smoking and Non-smoking  and handicapped rooms are available. The hotel accommodations include  indoor and outdoor swimming pool, exercise room, Business Center, free Wi-fi access, and an ATM/Cash Machine. The hotel is just minutes from several large malls and a galaxy of fast food, family and specialty restaurants, shops and tri state attractions. Our flat rate of $84, single through quad occupancy, makes it even better!

   * $35 until February 28, 2010
   * $40 At the Door
   * $25 One Day Memberships (Saturday)
   * $15 One Day Memberships (Friday and Sunday)
   
   * Children 12 and over Full Price
   * Children 6-11 $10
   * Children 5 and under Free.

Volunteers

Every convention needs volunteers and we offer incentives.There's a $5 rebate for every four hours of work,up to the registration fee you paid. If that's not enough, we will be holding separate door prize drawings just for gofers. Gofer t-shirts are available for volunteers who fulfill their time for a membership refund plus 4 hours.
